Starting your new website is simple and straightforward. Here's how you can get up and running in no time:
1. Setting Up Your Subdomain:
Your subdomain is the web address where visitors can find your site. It will be in the format subdomain.example.com, where "example.com" is our main domain and "subdomain" is your chosen name.
How to set up your subdomain:
- Step 1: In your dashboard, navigate to the menu on the left and click on "Get Started".
- Step 2: Enter your desired subdomain name (just the "subdomain" part without ".example.com") in the provided field.
- Step 3: Click "Save". You'll receive a confirmation once it's successfully set up.
🔔 Note: Ensure your chosen subdomain is unique. If it's already in use, you'll be prompted to select a different name.
2. Selecting Your Website Type:
After setting up your subdomain, you can choose the type of website you’d like to create. This helps narrow down the themes best suited to your needs.
- Step 1: Once your subdomain is saved, click "Proceed" to move to the next step.
- Step 2: Choose your website type from the dropdown menu (e.g., local business, portfolio, blog, etc.).
- Step 3: Click "Next" to view available themes for your selected type.
3. Choosing and Installing Your Theme:
Now you’re ready to design your website by selecting a theme that fits your chosen website type.
- Step 1: Browse through the themes displayed based on your selected website type.
- Step 2: Found a theme you like? Click "Select Theme" to confirm your choice.
- Step 3: Once selected, the theme will be installed and activated for your website.
4. Adding a Custom Domain (Optional):
If you have a custom domain (e.g., yourwebsite.com) and want to use it instead of the subdomain:
- Step 1: Go to "Website Settings" in the menu.
- Step 2: Under "Custom Domain:", enter your custom domain name.
- Step 3: Click "Save".
🔔 Note: To activate your custom domain, update its DNS settings to point to our platform. You can find detailed instructions in our DNS Setup Guide.
5. Managing Your Website:
After installing your theme, you can start adding content, customizing the design, and adjusting settings as needed. Your website setup is now complete, and you’re ready to start building your online presence!
