How to Update Domain Nameservers

1. GoDaddy

Login to your GoDaddy account.

Visit https://www.godaddy.com/ and click on the Sign In button, usually located in the top right corner.

Enter your username and password.

Once logged in, navigate to your User Dashboard.

Look for a section labeled Domains and click on it.

A list of your purchased domains will appear. Click on the name of the domain you want to modify.

In the Domain Settings page, scroll down until you see the Additional Settings section.

Here, there's an option labeled Manage DNS. Click on it.

A new page will load with various DNS settings. Scroll until you find the Nameservers section and click on Change.

A dropdown will allow you to select the Custom option. Choose it.

You'll then see fields where you can enter the new nameservers. Type them in.

Once done, click on the Save button.

2. Namecheap

  1. Login to your Namecheap dashboard.

    • Go to https://www.namecheap.com/ and click on Sign In.
    • Enter your account details.
  2. Once inside, locate a menu item titled Domain List on the left sidebar. Click on it.

  3. You'll see a list of your domains. Find the domain you want to modify and click on the Manage button next to it.

  4. Look for a section labeled Nameservers. Here, there's a dropdown menu.

  5. From the dropdown, choose the Custom DNS option.

  6. You'll then have fields where you can input your new nameservers. Fill them in.

  7. To save your changes, look for a green checkmark icon or a Save button. Click on it.

3. Bluehost (and similarly for most web hosting providers)

  1. Login to your Bluehost control panel.

    • Visit the Bluehost homepage and click on the Login button.
    • Enter your credentials.
  2. Once inside your dashboard, find and click on Domains in the sidebar.

  3. You'll see a list of your domains. Click on the one you want to change.

  4. Tabs will appear related to your domain settings. Click on the one labeled Name Servers.

  5. A Edit or Change button will be visible. Click on it.

  6. New fields will appear, allowing you to replace the existing nameservers with your desired ones.

  7. After entering the new nameservers, click on Save Nameserver Settings or a similar button.

4. HostGator

  1. Login to your HostGator billing portal.
  2. Click on Domains in the left sidebar.
  3. Click on the gear icon (Settings) next to your domain name.
  4. In the Nameservers section, replace the existing nameservers with your desired ones.
  5. Click Save Changes.

5. Network Solutions

  1. Login to your Network Solutions account.
  2. Click on Manage Account.
  3. In the My Domain Names section, click on Edit DNS.
  4. Click Edit Nameservers.
  5. Replace the existing nameservers with the ones you wish to use.
  6. Click Save or Submit.
